Went to a show today and saw things on show.
An old thing (1910), with old horsehair and old Lucas lights. The electrical connectors are a bit less old.
Japanese things, with supposedly original Japanese plates (except they’re not)
A Japanese thing of a posh nature. Note the JDM mirrors and the little corner marker lights just above the headlights.
One of these. What was it originally?
A thing with only two strokes.
Not just an Austin 1300. Oh no. This is a Vanden Plas Princess 1300, with one of those fancy automatic gearboxes.
Not just one Ford Zephyr Mk2, but two. How exciting is that?
Another Ford, but dearer. Claims to be 1994, don’t know how it managed that.
A brace of French things.
One of just two Americans. Not much interest in Americana here. The other was a Ford built Jeep.
Steering wheel mounted controls are not a new thing. Hand throttle, ignition advance/retard, lights.
The same car had this mounted forward.
No, the rear window isn’t jammed. It was intended to wind down at this angle.
Bonus points for genuine Japanese plates.
Yes, here’s a diagram of the Monza circuit on a Monza.

Apparently that photographer agreed with you it wasn’t worth bothering .
Any idea whether those plates were real or a reproduction? They look in remarkably good shape.

Those plates can last a long time without deteriorating much but the short answer is I haven’t a clue. The Jeep was fitted out with shovels and a replica gun to make it look original but I don’t k now how old it is.
EDIT: it’s 1943

I do not posses the cojones to take a WWII Jeep to 65 mph.
